Batteryless Electronic System Printed on Glass

A hybrid printed electronic sensor system was manufactured directly on a glass surface using screen printing.
The system combines a water sensor, an electrochromic display and printed conductors with conventional silicon electronics. Energy harvested from electromagnetic radiation provides power to the system, eliminating the need for a battery.
A silicon microcontroller monitors the sensor and updates the corresponding segment of the electrochromic display.
